Sound system Skoda Karoq
Overview of locations where sound system is fitted
1 - Front treble speaker
2 - Central speaker
3 - Rear treble speaker
4 - Subwoofer
5 - Rear bass speaker
6 - Digital sound package control unit - J525
7 - Front bass speaker
Removing and installing digital sound package control unit/amplifier
Removing
– Switch off all electrical components and take out the ignition key.
– Push the left front seat completely towards the rear and the highest point.
– Remove expanding rivets (2) and remove cover (1) towards the front.
– Remove screws (2).
– Gently swivel out the control unit (1) and pull it out of the holder (3).
– Slacken by tilting out the clamp and disconnect the plug connection.
– Release and disconnect the “MOST bus” databus (2).
– Protect socket for MOST-Bus Databus (2) with cover (1). You can also use another suitable way (e.g. wrap around a clean film and tape up).
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
– When replacing, code the new control unit with the Vehicle diagnostic tester.
– If the MOST-Bus data bus is damaged, replace databus with end pieces
Specified torques
Removing and installing the rear treble speaker -R14- / -R16-
Removing
– Remove rear door trim
Carefully drill out the heads of the plastic rivets (1) with a suitable drill and remove the speaker (2).
– Remove remains of the plastic rivets (cut off, grind down).
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
– Secure new speaker (2) with screws (3)
Specified torques
Remove and install front tweeters - R20- / -R22-
Front tweeter is integrated into the A-pillar trim at the top. Replace the AS column cover if damaged
Removing and installing the rear bass loudspeaker -R15- / -R17-
Removing
– Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
– Remove the door trim panel from which you are removing the speaker
– Disconnect socket connector at the loudspeaker.
– Drill out the rivets (1) with a suitable drill and remove the speaker (2).
Caution
- It is important to remove all the drill swarf from the door since it can otherwise lead to corrosion.
- Any damage to the paintwork which is caused by drilling out the rivets must be repaired immediately by a specialist.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Removing and installing the front woofers -R21- / -R23-
Removing
– Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
– Remove the door trim panel from which you are removing the speaker
– Disconnect socket connector at the loudspeaker.
– Drill out the rivets (1) with a suitable drill and remove the speaker (2).
Caution
- It is important to remove all the drill swarf from the door since it can otherwise lead to corrosion.
- Any damage to the paintwork which is caused by drilling out the rivets must be repaired immediately by a specialist.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Removing and installing subwoofer - R211-
The subwoofer - R211 is located in the recess for the spare wheel.
Removing
– Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
– Raise and lock luggage compartment floor
– Unlock the plug connection (2) and disconnect.
– Unscrew securing nut (3) and remove subwoofer (1).
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.

Removing and installing the central speaker
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Disassembly wedge - 3409-
Only on vehicles with the equipment “Soundsystem”
Removing
Caution
When using the lever tool, mask points where the lever tool is applied using commercially available adhesive tape.
– Switch off the ignition and all electrical components.
– Unclip cover (1) with the disassembly wedge and remove from the dash panel (arrows).
– Unscrew screws (1) and remove speaker (2).
– Disconnect plug.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
